Sacraments

REGISTRATION FOR SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION (FIRST RECONCILIATION, FIRST EUCHARIST, AND CONFIRMATION) WILL TAKE PLACE AFTER ALL MASSES ON SEPTEMBER 18-19, 2010.  THERE IS A FEE OF $10 FOR EACH BOOK NEEDED, AND PLEASE BRING A COPY OF YOUR CHILD’s BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE IF THEY WERE NOT BAPTIZED AT HOLY TRINITY PARISH (OR THE FORMER PARISHES OF ST. JOSEPH’s or OLPH.)  INFORMATION ON EACH SACRAMENT IS AVAILABLE BELOW.

Anointing of the Sick

  • If someone in your family is ill and requires Fr. Paul to anoint them, please contact the parish office at 780-960-0135.

Baptism

  • Baptisms take place on the second & fourth weekends of each month.  A Baptism Preparation Course is mandatory, and classes are held every second month. Call the parish office at 780-960-0135.

Confirmation:

  • Our preparation for Confirmation consists of a workbook, a monthly class, and a one-day retreat.
  • For those who attend John Paul II, Meridian Heights, or are homeschooled, will have Class on the first Monday of every month, beginning October 4th.  CLASSES BEGIN IN THE CHURCH WITH MASS AT 6:00pm FOLLOWED BY A LESSON IN THE PARISH HALL until 7:30pm.
  • Those who attend St. Marguerite’s or any other school not already mentioned, will attend classes on the first Tuesday of every month, beginning October 5th. CLASSES BEGIN IN THE CHURCH WITH MASS AT 6:00pm FOLLOWED BY A LESSON IN THE PARISH HALL until 7:30pm.
  • Saturday, April 30, 2011: Mandatory all day Confirmation retreat in the parish hall. Sign-in at 9:45am. Retreat begins at 9:30am and ends with the 5pm Mass.  Completed books should be turned in.
  • Monday, May 2 or Tuesday May 3, 2011: practice ceremony and preparatory comments.  Sponsors should attend with Confirmands.
  • Tues. May 24th, 2011, 7pm: Confirmation Celebration with Fr. Paul Terrio.  Confirmands & sponsors should be in the hall by 6:30pm.

Eucharist (First Communion)

  • Our preparation for First Communion consists of a workbook, a mandatory retreat (you must attend one of the two dates) Sunday, May 5th, 2011 from 2:30-4pm or Tuesday, May 7, 2010 from6-7:30pm, and a one-on-one meeting with Anne prior to receiving First Communion.
  • On Tuesday, June 9th, at 6pm there will be a Tour of the Church for all who are preparing for First Eucharist.
  • We will be celebrating First Communions on the Feast of Corpus Christi: Saturday, June 25th at the 5pm Mass,and Sunday, June 26th, at the 11am Mass.

Marriage

  • In order to be married at Holy Trinity Parish, you must first meet with Paul & Carol Quist, members of our pastoral team responsible for marriage & family ministry. Please contact the parish 6 months prior to the proposed marriage date to arrange a meeting. A preparation course is mandatory, and our parish office can fill you in on specific details. Priesthood/Permanent Diaconate (Holy Orders)

  • God is still calling workers to His vineyard. If you think you might have a call to serve Him as a priest or permanent Deacon, please contact Fr. Paul at the parish office or at the vocations office at 780-469-1010.

Reconciliation

  • Confessions are available by appointment (780-960-0135) or from 4-5pm on Saturdays (prior to the 5pm vigil Mass.)

  • Our preparation for First Reconciliation consists of a workbook and a mandatory retreat (you must attend one of the two dates) Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 2:30-4pm or Tuesday, March 10, 2011 from6-7:30pm.
  • First Reconciliation will take place on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at 7pm in Holy Trinity Church.

Fall Supper & AGM

Our 2010 Fall Supper and parish Annual General Meeting will take place on Saturday, September 25, 2010 following the 5pm Mass at Holy Trinity. Tickets will be available after Masses in September or from the parish office.
